Recovery Community

A peer led day program to support our unhoused or recently housed community members in a safe, homelike space

  • We embrace harm reduction and support all paths to recovery
  • We recognize that recovery can mean many things – recovery from homelessness, trauma, mental health, and substance use
  • Enjoy a cup of coffee and snacks
  • Chat with peer counselors
  • Join a peer run group
  • Navigation to services
  • Play guitar, ukulele or the keyboard (yep, we have one!)
  • Do some art
  • Weekly meditation group
  • Community celebrations
  • Open at 8:00 a.m. monday through friday (except Tuesday – opens at 9:30am)

compassionate Addiction Treatment

Licensed by Washington State Department of Health for Assessments, Substance Use Disorder Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient Treatment

  • Meet with counselors that support your path to recovery
  • Individual counseling sessions
  • Peer Support
  • Family counseling sessions
  • Group therapy
  • We use the Seeking Safety treatment model  to help people attain safety from trauma and/or substance misuse
  • Supportive of Harm Reduction
  • Substance use disorder assessments offered on walk in basis – includes Navigation into care based on your recovery goals

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Recovery support provided by a Certified Peer Counselor

  • Zero barrier program
  • Medical staff that care
  • Education on medication options and how to use the medication
  • You get your prescription the same day as your appointment
  • Introduction to our on site Recovery Community and services
  • We prescribe Buprenorphine (Suboxone) 
  • Pregnant women are welcome

Employment and Housing Case Management

Foundational Community Supports

  • Meet with our friendly employment and housing case management specialists
  • Support in gaining documentation needed for housing and employment
  • Create housing, employment and/or educational goals
  • Receive support in attaining your employment and housing goals
  • Receive ongoing support once employed or housed
  • Staffed with certified peer counselors with lived experience

CAMP HOPE PROJECTS

Working within a collaborative group of providers  creating programs and support through the Right of Way Safety Initiative funded by Washington State Department of Commerce. We are one of many harm reduction programs that provide drug checking in WA State.

  • Peer Navigators meet people exactly where they are at and work to connect individuals to housing, services, and to basic needs.
  • Peer Navigators provide support to get ID documents and housing options.
  • Peer Navigators provide continued support once housed, to help individuals continue on their journey of healing, with the goal of successfully maintaining housing.
  • Two low barrier transitional housing programs were opened
  • A Sobering Center was set up to support individuals seeking recovery, or stabalizing to maintain housing.
OAN IT! Outreach, Advocacy, and Navigation Ignites Transformation

Expert navigation and advocacy services for those impacted by the criminal justice system, provided by team members with lived experience

  • Meet with people in Spokane County jail who are exiting into homelessness
  • Support to end involvement with the criminal justice system, empowering self advocacy
  • Gain documentation needed for housing and employment
  • Create housing, employment and/or educational goals
  • Receive support in attaining basic needs – food, transportation, healthcare, behavioral health, housing and employment
  • Receive ongoing support once employed or housed
  • Staffed with certified peer counselors with lived experience

Compassionate Addiction Treatment participates in Washington State Community Drug Testing Network

Drug checking program

Working with the University of Washington’s  Addictions, Drug, & Alcohol Institue as part of the Washington State Community Drug Checking Network (CDCN), Funded by the Washington State Health Care Authority

  • This information is used to identify local drug supply, inform organization’s response plans, and prevent overdose deaths
  •  Voluntary and anonymous
  • Meet with a trained Drug Checking Technician, with lived experience
  • Chemical composition of a drug are identified, then sent into a labratory for confirmatory testing
  • Information provided on harm reduction information and strategies
  • Navigation available for resources, medical care, and other community resources
  • Provided on a walk in basis

Peer led outreach in downtown Spokane and surrounding areas

  • Meeting people exactly where they are at
  • Distributing essential needs
  • Basic wound care
  • Making connections to build trust and hope
  • Supporting harm reduction and zero barrier entry to recovery
  • Navigation into other services if requested

Navigation into Services

Staffed with certified peer counselors and Community Health Workers

Navigation into services within the community, to holistically support each person, including:

  • To shelters
  • Housing
  • Employment
  • Support navigating upon exit from jail (Can meet with you in county jail to build a plan)
  • Primary Medical Care
  • Emergency Medical Care (CHAS Medical Street Outreach)
  • Transportation to appointments as needed
  • Support navigating emergency mental health needs
  • Dental Care
  • Support in self-advocating

Work experience program

A community collaboration, creating opportunity to work in a group environment

  • Build self-esteem and belief in self
  • A variety of work experiences including grooming horses, caring for animals, and farm maintenance.
  • In collaboration with Cristy Pemberton of Full Circle Equine Rehabilitation
  • Sponsored by Smith-Barbieri Progressive Fund and Empire Health Foundation.

Community Outreach and Education

Our team is happy to participate within our community to advocate and educate to decrease the stigma of addiction and homelessness.
